Koh Samui, Thailand - Feb 2012.

The journey began from Taiping, Perak on 4th February 12. I let Yong and Ad Din stayed with my parents. We left Taiping half past 6 in the morning; just after Subuh prayer.
715km in one way

We arrived in BKH Checkpoint after 2 hours on saddle. There were hundreds of people crossing Malaysia – Thailand border that morning. I just remember that day was a public holiday for Malaysian. OMG. The moment was just a beginning as we had to face another checkpoint at Dannok.

The anticipation was right. Dannok Checkpoint was more severe than what we experienced an hour ago. I managed to buzz my fellow regimentals; Alexander, Mili, Tambun and Jejai and they were also suffering to get through Thai immigration and custom vehicle entry permit.
We only assembled in a group of 5 bikes around 11 in the morning (MY Time). The traffic was very good from Dannok but the climate was so hot and humid. So we stopped for thirst-quenching at one of Phattalung pump station.

1st stop at Phattalung.
Ibu enjoyed seeing surrounding of Southern Thailand. We were crossing a long stretch whereby mixed Muslim-Buddhist kampongs on our left side and nice blue sea belongs to Gulf of Thailand on our right side.
We reached Donsak ferry pier half past 5 in the afternoon. Yes, we did stop several places to rehydrate and we still not had our lunch yet. Luckily Ibu and I had our noodles-in-cup at our stoppage pump station.
Lunch time dude.

Indeed we're exhausted.

The brass ball Alexander Zulkarnain - a guy married more than 4 bikes.
After reaching Koh Samui, we split out into 2 groups. Actually my fellow regimentals joined this trip organized by a big bike shop situated in Juru, Penang. So Ibu and I just tagged them along their  way  but FORTUNATELY they were left behind by the organizer group since we made our move from Dannok. Haha! The regimentals went to their crib situated somewhere at Chaweng Beach while Ibu and I went to our pre-journey reservation crib; Thongtakian Resort (http://thongtakian.com/2011/thongtakian/) at Lamai Beach (if I am not mistaken).
An affordable resort for us.

Our crib, very close to beach.

We spent 2 nights in Koh Samui. We enjoyed good foods at Muslim Restaurant near Koh Samui mosque, shopped at Tesco Lotus, went to Hin Ta Hin Yai Rocks and also bargained few goodies at night market. Without any symptom, Ibu suffered high fever on the 2nd night. Alhamdulillah, with bless from Him, Ibu recovered quickly next morning – a day for us to depart.
