Saturday Ultravaganza

It was Saturday 22nd June 13.

Early in the morning Ibu showed her Masterchef talent by serving us home made fusion-style Nasi Lemak.

I believe taste of the Nasi Lemak not only attracting MasterChef juges goût de la Malaisie, Gordon Ramsey surely lifted his eyebrows as well!

Before we went to look for kiddies attires at Parkson, I sent my GS to car wash.

The bike must be in handsome look as Ibu and I might using her next week for an important occasion in Taiping.... or our own occasion in Hatyai.... or maybe in Ko Yo bridge... or perhaps Pak Bara :-)

Upon returning from Parkson, again Ibu surprised us with her next serving for our lunch; Siakap Stim (Steamed Sea Bass).

Please don't ask me how was the score for serving presentation.

I had no idea.

But, the only thing I knew about taste for both menus were ULTRAVAGANZA.

Thanks Ibu, I love you.

Singapore - December 2011

I've made up my mind.
I wish to pay a visit with long-lost relatives in Singapore.
So 5 of us on a single 308T (I really missed this car) made our trip downsouth during school holiday.

Our 1st stop was at resident of Wak Ainon a.k.a. Nenek Panther at Tanjung Bidara, Melaka.
She is an aunt to Abah.
Last I met her when I was in Standard 5.
She came to Taiping visiting my family.

The next day, we began our journey to Singapore via 2nd Link: GP ~ Tuas.
The traffic was good compare to JB ~ Woodland Causeway.
We checked-in at V-Hotel Lavender, Jellicoe Road.
Everything was costly in Singapore, even you have to pay hourly-basis parking lot inside your hotel parking bay!
Abah's cousins; Jack & Yati brought us for dinner on 1st night.

While waiting for hotel check-in procedure.

Ibu and Emak.

1st pose just after entering our room.

My kids, they never stay silent...

And they are photogenic as well!

Final shot before we left food court.
The next day we went to another Abah's relative - Wak Rahmat and Wak Galoh.
They were spouse living in  Pasir Ris; eastern-most residential area.
We had our lunch there.
I was able to feel a warmth welcome by Wak Rahmat and his family.
They never expected relative from Tanah Melayu whom so long ago lived together has finally meet again.
Before we left the resident, Wak Rahmat handed over to Abah 2 pcs. of old photo of Abah's late mother.
Thank you Wak Rahmat and family for your great courtesy.

The late Atok and the-never-met-Nenek. Abah was being held by Atok.

The never-met-Nenek with another relative.
On the 2nd night we've been invited for dinner by Wak Aziz Selamat, close cousin of Abah.
Wak Aziz did few times came to our house in Taiping before.
He bought us Singapore famous mutton bone red soup at Golden Mile hawker centre.

Abah and Wak Aziz trying their best to close the remaining account.

Wak Aziz tries to persuadeAdin to have the taste.

Got some more boneys Wak!

Ibu is watching those 2 old guys finishing soup.

Ibu and Adin had their dinner without the red-stuff soup.

I was forgotten to mention here that our hotel was nearby with MRT Lavender Station.
In front of Lavender MRT Station.

Wendy's Lavender Station.

I wasn't able to spend my time chatting with Wak Aziz as I need to take a good rest for long haul drive next morning; back to Ipoh.

Bali Island, June 2012.

Assalam to all readers,

This time I would like to share an experience of my family and I travelling to Bali Island last year.
Kuta here we come.
The trip was properly organized by Ibu and I since the trip required air transportation. As usual for Malaysian, we chose cheapest airline; Air Asia.
Ibu and Adin

Ayah and Yong
We began our journey from Ipoh as early as half past 5 in the morning. We took the earliest ETS to KL Sentral. Then we jumped onto ERL onbound to KLIA. Next we moved to LCCT via shuttle bus. That morning was so rushing for us just to be sure we were able to fly to Bali Island on time.

Yong felt asleep on ETS

They wonder why they must hitch another train.

Adin nice shot on ERL

Adin still wonder why this time he must be on bus.

We reached Bali Island at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The weather was perfect to get leisure around Kuta town. I've made booking at Kuta Paradiso Hotel - a not-so-expensive-but-good hotel for budget traveller like us.

Nice pose at hotel lobby.

Hostel-type bed arrangement

They understood Indo TV programme.
We were aware about Bali Island and there are few things I would like to share with fellow readers about the Island:
  • Bali is the island of Goddess - Natives of Bali Island are Hindu eventhough their faces are "serumpun" lookalike. So, don't simply praise Assalamualaikum to Bali people.
  • Please look for Minang restaurants as your main eatery place. The restaurants are the only HALAL restaurant available in Bali Island.
  • Be nice with cabbies - They'll surely bring you to interesting places with affordable charge.
On our 1st night, we met a cabby at hotel lobby. He brought us to a beautiful dinner place. The restaurant cooked HALAL foods (seafood). The most interesting about the restaurant were its location; just few steps from beach of Bali Sea and they had live show - freaking Bali dancing show which my family and I only dare to see female dancers instead of the "haunted" one.

Lovely teeteesh....

No further comment - too delicious.
On the 2nd day the cabby brought us to do window shopping at Batik megastore in Nusa Dua and he also brought us having lunch at Restoran Natrabu; a Minang restaurant.

Done with our lunch we asked bapak cabby bringing us to Legian Bombing Monument and Hard Rock Cafe boutique.

And before we returned to hotel, we took a walk to Matahari Plaza, looking for goodies and souvenirs for relatives and buddies.

In a nutshell, trip to Bali Island was so memento for us. All of us happy during our stay there and we look forward to be there again next time.
Love Bali.... from us.
